Are You So Busy that You've Lost Your First Love in Christ? When the church I pastor takes the Lord's Supper, we begin by reading the summary of the Law. The reason we do that is to be reminded of our wretchedness. We will never be able to always love God with every fiber of our being AND perfectly love our neighbor. We truly have fallen short of the glory of God, yet by the grace of God we (who are believers) have been justified by faith (Romans 3:23-24)! So let us not be like the Liars: may we “ confess our sins, [because] He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness ” (1 John 1:9). Be comforted with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But also be challenged in your walk… We see a relevant challenge for us in Revelation 2:1-7, a letter from Jesus Himself to the church of Ephesus, and they cared about so much that is godly.
