Pastors I Recommend Listening to Their Sermons If you’re in need of hearing some fine preaching during the week (not on Sunday-please attend your church and faithfully support your pastor!), here’s ten pastors I recommend for you to listen to their sermons and receive knowledge of the truth of God’s Words. They are faithful to teaching and preaching God’s Word, as well as shepherding the flock God has called them to pastor. I don’t know all these men personally, but I’ve still had the pleasure of witnessing their faithfulness in ministry and exegesis . They serve in a variety of denominations, four nations, and three states (four of the pastors are currently serving in Oklahoma). My goal in making this list was to keep off widely-known pastors (so no John MacArthur, although I would highly recommend him), including only pastors who are still alive (so no R.C. Sproul or Adrian Rogers, but their sermons are still widely available) and are actively pastoring a local church (so no on...

  A Baptist's Journey through an English Prayer Book "Didn’t Fall Off the Deep End, I Dived!" Since I studied church music in college, I’ve had a great appreciation for church liturgy. It started with the music, from studying the mass to studying and enjoying choral literature geared more to liturgical services and the church calendar. Then the calendar! It might seem like a constricting device for we Baptists to know that this Sunday (as of this writing) is the 5 th Sunday of Lent, but I’ve always thought it could bring a freedom in preparation for worship services, including prayers, Bible readings, music selection, and sermon delivery. Not only because of the solid biblical content of the liturgy, but also the beauty of church tradition.
